Frequently asked questions
Yes, the usual corrections are possible, but also montages. Just make sure that you do not include anything that was not taken by you. The use of an AI is not allowed.
Unfortunately this is not possible. The pictures will be anonymized so that the jury can neutrally evaluate which photos are the best. Regardless of who took them or what the story is. Since the pictures are anonymized, there is also no point in assigning special file names.
Each participant can upload up to three photos once. If only one or two pictures are uploaded, it will not be possible to upload them again. If you still want to submit more pictures (maximum three in total), please send them to us by e-mail to fotowettbewerb@fotokoch.li.
If you have uploaded a wrong picture or have taken a better one in the meantime, send us the new one by mail to fotowettbewerb@fotokoch.li and indicate which one should be removed from the ranking.
Yes, directly after the upload you will receive an email. If you don't get one, please check your spam folder. If it is not there either, please contact fotowettbewerb@fotokoch.li.
If your files are too large or your internet connection is slow, you may have problems uploading. This depends on different factors. Our recommendation is: Submit the pictures in a decent resolution for the jury (at least 2,500 pixels on the long side, even if the terms of participation ask for less), but try to stay under 20 MB file size. Also, the photos must be in JPG. If you have any problems, please send an email to fotowettbewerb@fotokoch.li.
After the end of the photo contest a jury will choose the best photos. This can take one to two weeks. Afterwards the winners will be notified by e-mail. As soon as we have a response from everyone, the result will be published on our blog. All participants will then also be informed by e-mail. In total, this can take up to four weeks.
Conditions of participation
All pictures with motifs around the topic orange are admitted and these must have been taken by you.
Each participant can submit up to 3 images once, exclusively online on the homepage at www.fotokoch.li/fotowettbewerb. The images must be submitted in JPG format and are not subject to any size restrictions, they should only be large enough to be judged by the jury (ideally at least 1200 pixels on the long side).
Uploading very large files may take some time depending on your internet connection. When submitting images, full name and email address are required.
Photo prints or digital image media received by mail will not be accepted and cannot be returned.
Upon receipt, the submitted images will be reviewed by an independent jury and then released for the competition.
The participant assures that they own all rights to the submitted picture, that they have the unrestricted exploitation rights to all parts of the picture, that the picture is free of third party rights and that no personal rights are violated in the depiction of persons. If one or more persons are recognizably depicted in the photo, the persons concerned must agree to the photo being published. Images depicting violence, glorifying violence, offending common decency, racist or other motifs that violate applicable law will not be permitted. The participants agree to the storage of the data and the publication of the pictures. The pictures will not be passed on to third parties. An exception to this is the passing on to the press for publication and reporting on the photo competition. The participating pictures can be shown and used by Foto Koch in any form after the photo competition, provided that the photographer is mentioned. There is no right to publication.
The participant must be of age. The participant expressly agrees to this. Foto Koch employees and their relatives are not eligible to participate in the photo competition. The legal process is excluded.
