Die Vollformatkameras von Nikon überzeugen Einsteiger, Hobbyfotografen und ambitionierte Fotografen gleichermaßen. Das liegt vor allem an dem Vollformatsensor, der bei den Kameras eingesetzt wird. Amateur- und Hobbyfotografen können nun fotografieren wie die Profis. Mit dem Bildsensor im FX-Format können hochgestochen scharfe, detailreiche und farbbrillante Bilder geschossen werden. Der Vollformatsensor ist doppelt so groß wie ein normaler APS-C Sensor. Die 24 bis 45 Megapixel bei den Nikon Kameras haben auf dem FX-Bildsensor genügend Platz, sodass die hohe Pixeldichte keine Nachteile beim Rauschverhalten und Schärfentiefe bedeutet. Wer oft unter schlechten Lichtbedingungen fotografiert oder auf Weitwinkelfotografie setzt, sollte auf die Stärke der Kameras von Nikon vertrauen. Ein weiterer Vorteil von Vollformatsensoren ist der größere Bildausschnitt, d.h. der Cropfaktor spielt bei den Kameras von Nikon keine Rolle. Mit ihren robusten spritzwassergeschützten und zugleich ergonomisch vorteilhaft geformten Gehäusen, liegt die Kamera leicht in der Hand und haben eine angenehme Haptik. Aufgrund ihrer sensationell professionellen Videofunktion, entweder in Full-HD, 4K oder sogar 8K, werden die Nikon Kameras sehr gerne auch für anspruchsvolle Video Drehs verwendet. Denn ohne störenden Cropfaktor gelingen Videos in Cine-Standard. Schnelle Datenübertragung werden durch WiFi, Bluetooth und USB Schnittstellen gewährleistet (bei einigen Geräten in Höchstgeschwindigkeit mit dem USB 3.0 Standard). Durch WLAN Konnektivität wird das Teilen der Motive ein Kinderspiel. Abgerundet wird das Angebot durch ein außerordentlich vielseitiges Zubehör an Objektiven, Datenkabeln, Anschlussadapter und vieles mehr.
