Wie die Hight-Tech-Optik unseren Blick verändert, grenzt nahezu an Magie. Und so sind es nicht selten die Teleobjektive, die in vielfacher Hinsicht für die Überwindung von Limits sorgen: Angefangen vom weltweit ersten Objektiv mit Lichtstärke 2,8 bei 500 Millimeter Brennweite von Sigma über Linsen mit Telekonverter von Nikon bis hin zu ultralichtstarken Linsen von Canon oder Pentax, sind sie alle für Tier- und Naturfotografie besonders geeignet, denn dort ist ein dichtes Heranzoomen an den Bildgegenstand erforderlich. Neue Maßstäbe in der Freihandtelefotografie setzen die Teleobjektive von Hasselblad und Leica. Bei Aufnahmen für nahe wie ferne Motive sorgen die Gläser für eine herausragende Wiedergabe der Kontraste bis in die äußersten Bildwinkel bei allen Blenden. Nachbearbeitung der Fotos per Software ist bei solchen Spitzenlinsen überflüssig. Deutlich wird damit die Eignung der Teleobjektive gerade wegen ihrer enormen Flexibilität auch für Porträtfotografie. Olympus trumpft mit dem derzeit leichtesten und kompaktesten Tele (Micro-Four-Thirds-Anschluss) und mit dem leistungsstärksten Bildstabilisierungssystem weltweit. Im mittleren Preissegment punktet Nikon mit Top-Modellen unter den handlichen Teleobjektiven, passend zu Nikon EF-Anschlüssen. Höchste Bildqualität selbst bei schlechtesten Lichtverhältnissen liefern eine große Bandbreite an Telelinsen: So bietet Fujifilm lichtstarke Teles für spiegellose Systemkameras. Die Linsen von Zeiss, Sony, Samyang, Panasonic, Walimex, Voigtländer, Tamron, geeignet für Vollformat- und Mittelformat-Sensoren wie auch für APS-C Sensor, sind mit Autofokus und anderen Features ausgestattet. Je nach Gehäuse, ob CSC (Systemkameras) oder SLR (Spiegelreflexkameras) oder Mittelformatkamera, und abhängig vom Anschluss hält die Auswahl für alle gängigen Anschlüsse und Anwendungsbereich die passende Linse bereit.
