Die Sony Alpha Vollformatkameras erlauben damit hervorragende Bilder auch bei schwierigen Lichtverhältnissen. Durch den im Vergleich zum APS-C-Sensor kleineren Cropfaktor kann der Vollformatsensor gleiche Bildausschnitte mit kürzeren Brennweiten aufnehmen. So können Objekte bei Offenblende besser freigestellt werden. Der schnelle Hybrid Autofokus sorgt für scharfe Bilder. Die Sony Kameras sind mit Ihrer Konnektivität (Wifi, HDMI, USB und GPS) auf der Höhe der Zeit, Fotos und Videos können so einfach und schnell mit Koordinaten versehen und auf andere Geräte übertragen werden. Große Datenmengen, wie sie insbesondere bei 4K-Videos anfallen, sind somit einfach zu sichern.
