Viele Fotografen sehen ein Projekt erst dann als vollendet an, wenn sie das fertige Foto gedruckt vor sich haben und das Ergebnis in Händen halten kann. Leider ist der Druck eine große Fehlerquelle, die oftmals eigentlich gute Ergebnisse zunichte machen kann. Deshalb ist es von enormer Wichtigkeit, dass Bildschirme und Drucker genau kalibriert werden und aufeinander abgestimmt werden. Mit einem passenden Colorimeter und einer präzisen Kalibrierung kann man einfach und leicht den idealen Druck seines Werkes in Händen halten. Egal ob man selber druckt oder seine Werke zum Druck geben möchte, die Kalibrierung von Laptops, Bildschirmen, Scannern, Beamern und natürlich den Druckern kann ein entscheidender Faktor sein. Mit einem Colorimeter der namhaften Hersteller Datacolor oder X-Rite hat man die Ergebnisse selbst in der Hand und kann als Fotograf auf ein konstantes Erscheinungsbild seiner Fotografien setzen. Nach dem Druck erfolgt nach der Kalibrierung mit einem Colorimeter keine Überraschung mehr und die auf dem Bildschirm dargestellten Farben entsprechen den Farben des späteren Drucks. Gerade bei Fine-Art-Drucken oder wenn man als Fotograf seine Werke verkaufen möchte, kann die Kalibrierung der richtige und entscheidende Weg zum Erfolg sein. Mit einem Colorimeter können die Farbräume bis ins Detail beherrscht werden und der Workflow des Fotografen bis zum Ende perfektioniert werden.
