  • Fixed focal length Lens
  • Lens speed F1.4
  • suitable for nature, landscape, people, portrait, available light and architecture - indoor shots
  • incredible image quality

The incredible image quality provides unprecedented visual experiences. Enjoy enhanced control over light and composition.
Through the constant use of cutting-edge designs and advanced technologies, SIGMA has gained extensive experience in producing fast fixed focal lengths that can bring out the full potential of ultra-high resolution DSLRs. As the latest success in this category, SIGMA introduces an ultra-wide-angle Lens with F1.4 aperture. With a 20mm focal length and F1.4 aperture, this lens delivers outstanding brightness, natural bokeh and unprecedented visual experiences. By taking advantage of the wide-angle perspective and narrow depth of field at wide open aperture, this Lens is not only ideal for ultra-wide-angle subjects such as landscapes and starry skies, but is also suitable for low-light snapshots, indoor shots, portraits with natural bokeh and much more.

Low chromatic aberration
The Lens minimizes chromatic aberrations, which are otherwise a typical problem with fast ultra-wide-angle lenses. It contains two FLD ("F" Low Dispersion)° and five SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements to minimize lateral chromatic aberrations, which would mainly be visible at the edges of the image. An optimized power distribution also helps to minimize longitudinal chromatic aberrations. As a result, this lens delivers high image quality without colour streaks in every situation, and its imaging performance is consistently sharp with high contrast.

Minimized distortion
Distortion is a typical problem with wide-angle lenses that cannot be corrected simply by changing the aperture value. The development phase of the Lens is therefore crucial for minimizing distortion. The perfect alignment of the light directly with the first lens element and the inclusion of optimally positioned aspherical glass elements contribute to minimizing distortion over the entire image with the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art.

Reflection and ghost image eliminating design
From the very beginning of the lens design process, the susceptibility to reflections and ghost images was investigated in order to achieve an optical design that is resistant even to strong backlighting. As early as the prototype phase, SIGMA not only relied on simulations, but also experimented in practice to better evaluate the cause of reflections and ghosting in a variety of shooting situations, so that measures could be taken to mitigate them. In addition, SIGMA's Super Multi Layer coating reduces reflections and ghosting and delivers sharp, high-contrast images even in backlit conditions.

The ideal fast lens for snapshots and much more
Outstanding performance for the high megapixel era.
At the beginning of the film camera era, there was very little high-sensitivity film stock. Therefore, fast lenses became known as "fast lenses", which delivered good results in low light conditions. Such Lens are ideal for shooting indoors, at dusk, under cloudy skies or in other low light situations. As the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art offers the benefits of an ultra-wide-angle lens with barely perceptible distortion, it is ideal for shooting landscapes, starry skies and architecture. In addition to wide-angle shots with the whole scene in focus, the photographer can use the wide aperture to create images with an isolated subject against a background with attractive bokeh. This high-performance Lens is specially designed for high-resolution digital cameras and delivers this outstanding resolution with absolutely clear image quality even at open aperture.
