  • Fisheye Video DSLR
  • suitable for 4K
  • very high speed of T3.1
  • Close focusing distance of 20 cm
  • stepless aperture, ideal for consistent exposure during filming
  • smooth focusing, ideal for follow focus
  • built-in lens hood suitable for the angle of view
  • manual focus and aperture adjustment
  • suitable for full format as well as APS-C sensor

Exceptional focal length with high speed
The Samyang 12mm F3.1 is a full-frame fisheye lens for full format.
With a diagonal angle of view of approx. 180° at full format, it captures a huge field of view. Perfectly suited for overviews, interiors, confined spaces, as well as for reportages in such locations. The Lens puts the subject in the right light. At T3.1, the Lens has a high initial aperture. Due to the short focal length and the low magnification, it is characterized by a very large depth of field.

For videography
For videography, the aperture can be continuously adjusted from T3.1 to 22. The focus adjustment is soft and smooth. This enables smooth focus tracking, especially when shooting video. The aperture ring and focus ring have a gear ring and are therefore optimized for use with focus pullers (follow focus), which greatly simplifies use when filming. The distance and aperture scales are located on the side for better legibility.

High-quality optics
The Lens is internally focused with a close focusing distance of approx. 20 centimetres. The optical construction with 12 lenses in 8 groups is very complex and promises the best imaging performance. The multi-coating of all lenses used in the Lens with the in-house Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) is standard at Samyang. It enables a higher light yield, better color rendering and higher contrast. In addition, one glass surface is coated with NCS Nano Coating System, which promises an even more brilliant image.

Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor (or smaller)
Save time in post-processing: A large number of lens errors such as distortion, edge blur or vignetting occur on the outer areas of the image. If you use a Lens calculated for full format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used at all. This ensures maximum quality. Additional post-processing time to correct lens errors is therefore not required.
