The X-S10 is the ideal choice for anyone who wants a lightweight camera with advanced photo and video features. Very user-friendly is the Auto mode, in which the camera automatically adjusts all settings to the subject. This ensures the best possible quality image in every situation. Advanced users will appreciate the advanced video features such as 4K/30p recording with 10-bit and 4:2:2 color sampling or high-speed recording at 240 frames per second for impressive slow-motion sequences.
Another highlight of the camera is the rotating and tilting touchscreen LCD - perfect for photo enthusiasts, bloggers and filmmakers who share their images with friends and fans via social media.
Advanced image stabilization
In-camera five-axis image stabilization (IBIS) is approximately 30 percent more compact and lighter compared to previous models.*1 Overall, the X-S10 weighs just 465 grams and enables up to six EV stops*2 longer shutter speeds. It is the first mid-range model to feature mechanical shock absorbers on the shutter. These protect the sensor from vibrations caused by the shutter mechanism. As a result, images of high brilliance and sharpness are achieved in every shooting situation.
The large, ergonomic handgrip of the X-S10 also contributes to a steady camera posture. It is made of a robust magnesium alloy and guarantees a secure grip even when using larger lenses. For added stability and ruggedness, the top and front body plates are also made of magnesium alloy.
High image quality and legendary FUJIFILM colors
FUJIFILM continues its legacy of analog photography with digital film simulations that emulate the look of legendary analog films. The X-S10 features 18 of these image styles, including "ETERNA Bleach Bypass" for a high-contrast look with desaturated colors.
The X-S10's advanced Auto mode automatically optimizes camera settings according to detected subject types. This makes it easy to capture stunning landscapes with brilliant, vivid colors and attractive portraits with natural skin tones. Even in backlit situations, balanced exposure results can be achieved without advanced knowledge.
Burst mode for fast autofocus and image series
The X-S10's autofocus focuses on the subject at lightning speed and tracks even dynamic subjects with high precision thanks to face and eye detection. Focusing is as fast as 0.02 seconds and works in the dark down to -7 EV.*3 This performance is made possible by the X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor with 2.16 million phase-angle AF pixels, which harmonizes perfectly with the fast-clocked X-Pro processor 4.
Not only is the new camera's autofocus blazingly fast, but so is continuous shooting: up to 8 frames per second are possible with a mechanical shutter, and even up to 30 frames per second with an electronic shutter (at crop factor 1.25). When using the electronic viewfinder, there is no blackout of the viewfinder image between two exposures, so the view of the subject is not affected during continuous shooting.
Rotating and swiveling touch screen and electronic viewfinder
The X-S10 has a 7.6 cm rotating and swiveling touch screen LCD, which can also be used as a selfie monitor and for conveniently shooting photos and videos from a wide range of positions.
The electronic viewfinder offers three boost options: "residual light priority" for an easy-to-read display even in dark environments, "resolution priority" for displaying the finest details, and "frame rate priority" for a clear viewfinder image when shooting dynamic subjects.
4K-video recording and 10x slow motion
The X-S10 records 4K/30p-quality video either directly to an SD memory card at 8-bit and 4:2:0 color sampling, or outputs it at 10-bit and 4:2:2 via an HDMI port. In high-speed mode, impressive slow motion with 10x deceleration is possible with Full HD and 240 frames per second. Even movements that occur in a fraction of a second are vividly captured in the image. In addition to the IBIS system, digital image stabilization is used, which allows for steady and sharp shots even when walking. In IS Boost mode, the stabilization effect is further enhanced so that all camera movements are compensated for during stationary freehand shooting.
Video recording can be started via the video button on the top of the X-S10. This is also possible during shooting. Exposure and focus are automatically adjusted by the camera.*4

A fast zoom for all occasions
The particularly small and lightweight standard zoom for mirrorless APS-C cameras is the ultimate always-on lens.
SIGMA's first zoom specifically for mirrorless cameras with APS-C sensor has a versatile zoom range of small-format equivalent 27-75mm. This makes it ideal for a wide range of photo and video shooting, from landscape, portrait and street photography to architectural photography and reportage. With a magnification of up to f/2.8*1, it can also be used for close-up photography down to a closest focusing distance at 12.1cm. The widest aperture of F2.8 not only allows hand-held shooting even in poor lighting conditions, but can also provide effective cropping of the subject by playing with a shallow depth of field.
The autofocus is extremely fast and quiet - thanks to being driven by a stepper motor. This proves particularly useful in photos and video recordings of fast-moving subjects such as children and animals. Its light weight of just 290g and compact dimensions make it a perfect choice as an always-on Lens that can handle a wide range of shooting situations. It can also be used as a "back-up lens" on a full-frame camera*2.
*1 The specifications for magnification and closest focusing distance apply to the shortest focal length.

High speed of F2.8 and outstanding image quality
The SIGMA 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary covers the focal length range between 27 and 75mm (equivalent to 35mm format) - with a continuous speed of F2.8. This makes it ideally suited for portrait and close-up photography, where the subject needs to be cropped against a blurred background that does not distract from the subject in focus due to the attractive, soft bokeh.
With three high-precision, bright-pressed aspheres and a reduction in the number of optical elements overall, the Lens achieves superior image quality at a low weight. In-camera optical noise correction further helps eliminate aberrations such as distortion and vignetting. This performance is made possible by advanced lens development technology at SIGMA's sole manufacturing facility in Aizu, Japan, where all SIGMA lenses are produced.
2.
Exceptionally Lightweight and Compact - Ideal for Mirrorless Cameras
The SIGMA 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary is remarkably lightweight and compact, making it the perfect match for mirrorless APS-C cameras. It is the perfect standard zoom, ideal for everyday use and up to a wide range of shooting situations. The Lens is currently the smallest and lightest in its class *1, with a maximum diameter of 65.4mm, a length of 74.5mm and a weight of 290g *2, while maintaining a constant aperture of F2.8.
To keep the weight down, SIGMA has constructed the Lens using specially selected materials. The lens barrel is made of TSC (Thermally-Stable-Composite) polycarbonate, which is slim and robust and, most importantly, has a thermal conductivity similar to that of aluminum. This ensures high reliability and smooth operation under changing temperatures. For some internal components, SIGMA made a conscious decision to use metal, as these parts require less material while offering greater strength. Thus, the lens is designed to withstand more intensive use.

3.
Suitable for a wide range of shooting situations
The SIGMA 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary has a fast and nearly silent autofocus that makes it recommended for a wide range of photographic applications, including shooting in quiet environments as well as shooting video and photos that require fast focus tracking. This is achieved by using a stepper motor to drive the focus. Because the Lens is small and lightweight, it can be used very flexibly in situations that require high mobility, or when shooting from hard-to-reach shooting positions, gimbal shooting, one-man video recording, and vlogging.
The most versatile possible range of uses was a priority in the development of the Lens, and so SIGMA chose a design with a closest focusing distance of 12.1cm and a maximum magnification of f/2.8*, making it ideal for close-up shooting.
* The specifications for magnification and closest focusing distance apply to the shortest focal length.
Together with the extremely compact full-frame SIGMA fp camera, this results in a total weight of just 712g - so the Lens can also serve as a "back-up" on a full-frame camera in crop mode if, for example, the weight of the equipment needs to be minimized.
The 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary, which combines compact dimensions, light weight, high performance and fast speed, handles a wide range of tasks primarily with entry-level mirrorless models in both photography and video shooting, but also with full-frame cameras.
